Apex Legends: Revelry - TDM, Class Revamp & More!

Apex Legends Season 16 Revelry Gets Team Deathmatch, Reworked Class System, and More

New Gamemodes

Season 16: Revelry is bringing some exciting new ways to play Apex Legends. For the first time, Team Deathmatch (TDM) will be available as a limited-time mode, offering a fast-paced, 6v6 experience. While you can’t queue with more than a standard three-person squad, TDM will provide a great way to hone your skills and enjoy a different kind of competitive atmosphere. The mode is best of three rounds, making each match quick and action-packed.

Following the launch of Revelry, a permanent rotating LTM playlist called “Mixtape” will arrive on March 7th. This playlist will feature a selection of popular limited-time modes, including Team Deathmatch, Control, and Gun Run, ensuring there’s always something fresh and engaging to jump into when you want a break from the battle royale.

Class System Rework

A significant overhaul of the Legend class system is coming in Season 16. Legends will now be categorized into distinct roles with specific in-game perks. These categories are:

  • Assault: Focused on offensive capabilities.
  • Skirmisher: Emphasizing mobility and flanking.
  • Recon: Gathering intelligence and scouting.
  • Controller: Manipulating the battlefield and controlling space.
  • Support: Aiding allies through healing and utility.

This rework will change how you choose Legends and how you play in your team. This update should make team compositions more strategic and meaningful.

New Weapon: Nemesis

A new weapon is joining the Apex Legends arsenal in Season 16: the Nemesis. This energy-based assault rifle fires in four-round bursts and offers a unique mechanic. Unlike the Hemlok, you can hold down the trigger for continuous bursts.

The Nemesis gains a “charged” state as the trigger is held, shortening the time between bursts, leading to a faster fire rate. The charge remains active for a short time after firing, allowing you to maintain high damage output. If left unused for a while, the weapon loses its charge. This is a fast-paced weapon that requires strategic thought.

Beginner Friendly Match System

To ease the learning curve for new players, Apex Legends is introducing a new orientation match system. This separate queue provides a safe environment to learn core mechanics, movement, and weapon handling.

New players can enter this mode solo or with friends. The battle royale matches in this mode will include bots, giving beginners a chance to practice and get a feel for the game without immediately facing experienced players. The system is intended to foster a more welcoming experience, increasing retention.

Timed Login Bonuses

To celebrate Apex Legends’ 4th anniversary, players will receive timed login bonuses during the first two weeks of Season 16: Revelry (February 14th to 21st). Logging in during this period will automatically unlock Crypto, along with a thematic pack that is guaranteed to include a Crypto-themed item.

From February 21st to 28th, logging in will unlock Ash and one of her themed packs. These rewards are a great way to get new Legends and cosmetics. The login bonuses create excitement around the new season.
