Dune: Awakening Patch Notes 1.1.0.17
Deep Desert
Patch 1.1.0.17 brings significant alterations to the Deep Desert, focusing on improving the endgame experience, especially for PvE players. The southern half of the Deep Desert has been designated as a PvE zone, allowing players to avoid PvP encounters if they wish. This change aims to provide a more accessible endgame for those not interested in player-versus-player combat, ensuring they can still enjoy the content available.
- The entire southern half of the Deep Desert map is now designated as a PvE zone.
- Imperial Testing Stations and caves in this area are now PvE.
- Control Points and Shipwrecks remain PvP throughout the entire map.
Vehicles
Several adjustments have been made to vehicles, especially Ornithopters, to refine their handling and balance. Attaching a Rocket Launcher Module to an Ornithopter now reduces its top speed, with a greater reduction for Scout Ornithopters than for Assault Ornithopters. Furthermore, changes were implemented to the way Ornithopters behave when players exit mid-air, making them drop straight down to reduce the chance of players losing their vehicle if they disconnect or exit accidentally.
- Rocket Launcher Modules now decrease Ornithopter top speed.
- Scout Ornithopters experience a 20% speed reduction.
- Assault Ornithopters experience a 10% speed reduction.
- Ornithopters now drop straight down when exited mid-air.
Visiting
This patch removes visiting restrictions related to Sietches. Previously, players were limited to their “home” Sietch and could only visit others without claiming land. The update eliminates this limitation, permitting players to travel to any Sietch in their world and claim land wherever they desire. This promotes greater freedom and flexibility in player interactions and base building throughout the game world.
- Visiting restrictions on Sietches have been removed.
- Players can now visit any Sietch in their world.
- Players can claim land in any Sietch they visit.

Also, the development team resolved an issue where some gamers might have seen a client freeze when moving across Deep Desert servers, improving the reliability of server transitions.
- Multiple exploit vulnerabilities have been addressed.
- Fixed infinite loading screen issue related to network problems.
- Resolved client freeze issue when traveling between Deep Desert servers.
Combat
The patch includes a fix that addresses an issue where melee attacks could be obstructed by corpses lying on the ground. This obstruction interfered with combat fluidity, thus fixing the bug ensures that players can engage in melee combat without hindrances caused by environmental elements like corpses. This should result in a more consistent and smoother combat experience.
- Fixed issue where melee attacks could be obstructed by corpses.
User Interface
Funcom addressed some User Interface issues in the latest patch. The localization of guild faction alignment on the Guild Overview tab was fixed to reflect accurate information in all supported languages. They also corrected an issue that led to a black screen for players who skipped the cinematic during “The Wreck of the Hephaestus” quest. Additionally, inaccuracies related to Sandbike research schematics sourcing were corrected for better clarity.
- Fixed localization of guild faction alignment on the Guild Overview tab.
- Fixed black screen issue when skipping cinematic at “The Wreck of the Hephaestus”.
- Corrected inaccuracies in Sandbike research schematics sourcing.
Travel
The developers identified and corrected an issue that permitted players to exploit the ornithopter pilot service to travel from cities to Hagga Basin if they had initially entered the city with their own ornithopter. This unintended interaction was corrected to restore the intended travel constraints. This change ensures travel mechanics are aligned with the game’s design, preventing unintended shortcuts.
- Fixed an issue allowing unintended travel from cities to Hagga Basin using the ornithopter pilot service.
Miscellaneous
The patch addresses a quality-of-life issue where learned emotes would be lost when players respec’d their skill tree. This was an undesirable outcome, as it forced players to re-acquire emotes after resetting their skills. The fix ensures that emotes are now retained after respec’ing, allowing players to freely experiment with skill builds without losing their customized emotes.
- Players will no longer lose learned emotes when respec’ing their skill tree.
