The Division 2: End-Game Specializations

The Division 2 Specializations: Welcome to the End Game

How do I unlock these Specializations?

4 Steps to Unlock

Unlocking the Specializations in The Division 2 requires completing certain prerequisites within the game’s advanced content. This isn’t simply about reaching a higher level; it involves specific activities and missions to earn these powerful character augmentations.

  • Reach Level 30: This crucial step involves accumulating significant experience points (XP). Consistently engaging in missions, defeating enemies, and participating in various in-game activities is paramount. Focus on the main story missions, which often provide substantial XP rewards. Side quests, events, and strongholds can also contribute to leveling.
  • Complete All Main Story Missions: As you progress through the main story, the game opens up new areas and tasks. Completing all these objectives isn’t just about the narrative; it unlocks access to more opportunities for XP and eventually, the unlock for Specializations. Explore every corner of Washington D.C. to find hidden objectives.
  • Conquer the Strongholds: The game features strongholds, contested territories requiring your agent’s intervention. Taking down enemy factions and supporting the civilians in these areas unlocks essential rewards, including increased XP, and unlocks a pathway to the White House, where you’ll choose your specialization.
  • Return to the White House: Successfully completing the previous steps grants you access to World Tier 1. A notification appears on your map, directing you back to the White House. Following this, a cutscene will trigger, allowing you to choose your desired specialization at the Quartermaster station.

Which types of Specializations are within the game?

Three Unique Specializations

The Division 2 currently offers three distinct Specializations, each with unique playstyles and advantages. These choices cater to diverse gaming preferences, ensuring a variety of approaches to tackling challenges.

  • Demolitionist: This specialization leans towards a “bomber” archetype. It provides resistance to fire and explosive damage, equipping you with the M32A1 Grenade Launcher and a Fragmentation Grenade. This powerful combination allows significant crowd control, with heightened explosive damage and bleed effects on enemies.
  • Survivalist: Suited for support-oriented players, the Survivalist offers tools for keeping your team alive. The Explosive-Tipped Crossbow is their signature weapon. Unlockable skills aid in team survival and damage control. The incendiary grenade enhances your tactical prowess by stunning and controlling enemies.
  • Sharpshooter: This specialization caters to “damage dealer” players, who prefer accuracy and precision. The TAC-50 C Rifle is their primary weapon, excelling at dealing massive damage, especially against armored foes. The sharpshooter boasts skills boosting accuracy and damage output. Flash Grenades are invaluable for disrupting enemy formations and neutralizing cover.

What other options might we get from future Specializations?

Ubisoft has hinted at more Specializations in the future, with the “Year One Pass” offering a glimpse of what’s to come. Currently, a teaser reveals a Gatling gun as a potential future signature weapon. Beyond this, the mechanics of these additions remain unknown, prompting speculation regarding the diverse and powerful tools they could bring.

Pick What Suits You Best

Your choice of specialization is crucial. Your progression within a specialization hinges on actively utilizing its specific skills and abilities throughout your gameplay. Whether you’re focused on achieving every single skill within each tree or solely focusing on one specialization, this system offers diverse progression paths, maximizing longevity and engaging gameplay in The Division 2.
