Diablo 4 Trading System Guide: How to Trade Items and Item Restrictions
How to Trade Items in Diablo 4
Diablo 4’s trading system allows players to exchange items with each other. This process is facilitated through the Battle.net platform. To initiate a trade:
- Find a Trading Partner: Use Diablo 4’s dedicated chat channels on Battle.net to locate players interested in trades.
- Party Up: Invite the player you want to trade with to your party. This crucial step places both players in the same World State.
- Choose a Trading Location: Select a suitable location for the trade, likely a populated area like Kyovashad.
- Initiate the Trade: Approach the target player, open your action wheel, and select “Invite to Trade”.
- Accept the Invitation: The recipient of the trade invite needs to acknowledge the request.
- Add Items to the Trade Window: Both parties can now add the desired items to their respective trade windows.
- Confirm the Trade: Click “Lock in Offer” on both sides to finalize the trade.
- Important Considerations: Remember that you cannot trade equipped items or items directly from your stash. Modifying items in either trade window requires clicking “Lock in Offer” again.
Items Restrictions in Diablo IV
While trading is possible in Diablo 4, certain items and currencies have limitations. Not all items can be traded freely. The trade restrictions prevent the exploitation of the game economy or discourage undesirable behaviours.
- Gold as a Key Currency: Gold is the only currency freely tradable. Other currencies are restricted to either your Battle.net account or individual character.
- Equipment Restrictions: Items currently equipped on your character are not tradable, and items within your stash cannot be traded directly.
- Specific Item Types: Some item types possess restrictions or limitations on trade. This system will prevent abuse or exploitation of the trading system.
Tradeable Items & Currencies
Certain items and currencies can be traded without any restrictions. These generally include common items, rare items, magic items, elixirs, gold, and gems.
Items & Currencies Not Tradeable
Conversely, other items and currencies cannot be traded. This list often includes:
- Enchanted Items: These items typically have limitations.
- Legendary & Unique Items: These special items are usually not tradable.
- Quest Items: These are generally restricted from trading due to their role in the storyline.
- Any Non-Gold Currency: All currencies other than gold are usually restricted to a player’s account or character.
Be mindful of these restrictions to ensure your trades are legitimate and that you avoid any unintentional consequences. Understanding the trade system is important for navigating the game effectively.
Early-game trading will likely be active around popular hubs like Kyovashad. As a player, it’s important to remember that trading often revolves around the demand and scarcity of items. High-demand items, or “chase items,” will fetch a greater price.
