The quest Secret of the Spring can be found near Diablo 4’s first major city, Kyovashad. You can find out how to solve the quest here. Buy Diablo 4 Gold to enhance your gameplay experience!
Where can I find the quest?
You can find the quest north of Kyovashad in the “Ice Cold Expanse” area. Near the dungeon “Abandoned Quarry” there is a discarded note on the ground. As soon as you click on it, the quest starts.
How do I solve the quest Secret of the Source?
The quest takes you to a small pond. Use the “Wait” emote here to complete the task – similar to the early quest “Lift the Spirits” within Kyovashad. Once you’ve used the emote, a buried chest will appear. If you open it, the quest is complete.
However, the “Waiting” emote is not included in the preselection of your emote menu.
How do you use and switch emotes?
Here are the buttons for mouse and keyboard as well as controller:
- Keyboard: Open the emote menu with “E”
- Use the mouse wheel to switch emote tabs
- Controller: Opens the emote menu with “D-pad up”
- Use L1/R1 or LB/RB to switch emote tabs
Once you’re in the emote menu, press “Triangle” or “Y” on the controller or select “Customize” with the mouse. You can swap out your emotes in this menu:

You then have to save the changes and you can use the emote on the small pond of “Secret of the Source”.
What are the benefits of emotes?
In Diablo 4, the actions are not only intended for communication between players. You can interact with specific shrines or use the emote wheel to return to the start of a dungeon.
Some shrines offer you different and sometimes crazy bonuses. Interact with the shrines for a clue to the emote you’re looking for. The shrines don’t improve your gameplay, but rather bring gold bonuses and the like:

Quests and shrines often disguise a little which specific emote you need for the solution. But the puzzles are usually not particularly difficult.
