
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Patch Notes
CD Projekt Red has released the final major update for Cyberpunk 2077, Update 2.1, arriving on December 5th. This patch includes a plethora of features and improvements, including the long-awaited metro system, romantic partner hangouts, new vehicles, and more.
New Features
- Metro System: V can now utilize the metro system to travel between 19 stations across Night City on 5 distinct lines. Players can choose to enjoy the immersive experience of riding the train or simply fast travel for convenience.
- Romantic Partner Hangouts: V can now invite their significant other to their apartment for unlimited hangouts, offering a new way to deepen relationships.
- Radioport: Listen to the radio while exploring Night City on foot or riding the train. The radio seamlessly switches to the car radio when you enter a vehicle and turns off when quest-specific music begins. Volume control is now also available directly within the radio window.
- Replayable Car Races: After completing “The Beast in Me,” V can participate in replayable car races by looking for race flag icons on the map. Winning these races provides eddies and a discount at the Autofixer website. Improved racer AI and enhancements make these races more competitive and enjoyable.
- Sightseeing Binoculars: Discover various scenic spots around Night City equipped with binoculars to appreciate the city’s breathtaking vistas.
Accessibility
- Larger Interface Font: An option to enable a larger interface font is now available.
- Breach Protocol Timer: Players can now disable the timer in the Breach Protocol minigame.
- Customizable HUD: The HUD offers a wider range of customization options:
- Larger HUD elements
- Removed HUD Lens Distortion
- Removed HUD Visual Effects
- Reduced HUD Decorative Elements
- New Accessibility Tab
- Weapon Cycling to Arm Cyberware Setting
- Rebindable UI panel Up/Down and Left/Right keys
Quests & Open World
- Gang Pursuit: V may be pursued by gangs after taking an aggressive approach during certain gigs and main quests.
- Vehicle Thefts & Combat Sequences: Gigs involving stealing and delivering vehicles can now escalate into car chases and combat encounters.
- Functional Vendors: Decorative vendors within kiosks are now functional, allowing for interactions with vendors at bars throughout Night City.
- Numerous Quest Fixes: Various fixes for quests and issues encountered in the open world, including:
- Fixed gigs not triggering after approaching the quest area.
- Fixed Rogue’s permanent following issue in “Chippin’ In.”
- Fixed Peter Greene’s body remaining highlighted after scanning in “Cyberpsycho Sighting: House on a Hill.”
- Fixed reward vehicles not spawning for certain gigs in Badlands and City Center.
- Fixed various other quest-related issues, such as missing characters, blocked progress, and inconsistent events.
Phantom Liberty-Specific
- Dogtown Suspected Organized Crime Activities: Fixed issues where enemies would not spawn in certain areas, blocking progress.
- In-Game Time After Braindance: Fixed an issue where in-game time would not pass after watching Lizzy Wizzy’s concert braindance.
- Achievement Fixes: Resolved issues preventing the unlocking of “Arachnophobia” and “All the President’s Men” achievements.
- Relic Ruler Achievement: Fixed an issue where the “Relic Ruler” achievement would unlock after acquiring only one Relic Perk.
- Iconic Weapons: Iconic weapons previously exclusive to Phantom Liberty are now obtainable in the base game.
- Quest Fixes: Numerous bug fixes for quests within Phantom Liberty, including:
- Fixed “Addicted to Chaos” from completing automatically without being finished.
- Fixed issues with garage doors not opening, missing characters, and other progression blockers.
Gameplay
- Boss Fight Improvements: Enhanced boss fights with Yasha Ivanov, Boris Ribakov, and Adam Smasher. Smasher now has the ability to activate Sandevistan.
- New Cyberware:
- Feen-X: Skeleton Cyberware: Increased armor and RAM Regen Rate based on available RAM.
- Cogito Lattice: Integumentary System Cyberware: Enhanced armor based on available RAM.
- Cyberware Rebalance: Numerous Cyberware items have received stat adjustments to improve balance and gameplay, including:
- Adreno-Trigger: Decreased movement speed bonus duration.
- All Berserks (except Militech Berserk): Added damage reduction bonus.
- Axolotl: Decreased Cooldown reduction.
- Camillo RAM Manager: Decreased Cooldown.
- Chrome Compressor: Increased Cyberware Capacity bonus, lowered price.
- Dense Marrow: Decreased Armor, increased melee Stamina cost.
- Epimorphic Skeleton: Decreased Armor.
- Ex-Disk: Increased quickhack upload speed bonus.
- Leeroy Ligament System: Increased Armor.
- Lynx Paws: Added 20% damage reduction from falls.
- Microgenerator: Decreased Electrical damage.
- Militech “Apogee” Sandevistan: Decreased extended duration bonus, decreased Max Duration, increased headshot damage, increased Crit Chance and Crit Damage.
- Militech “Falcon” Sandevistan: Decreased extended duration bonus, increased Max Duration, increased Health bonus after neutralizing an enemy.
- Nano-Plating: Changed Attunement from Cool to Reflex (Crit Chance bonus).
- Peripheral Inverse: Increased Armor.
- RAM Reallocator: Increased recovered Max RAM.
- RAM Upgrade: Increased RAM recovery rate.
- Reinforced Tendons: Decreased Armor.
- Self-ICE: Decreased Cooldown.
- Shock-N-Awe: Changed Attunement bonus to Tech weapon damage.
- Universal Booster: Health Item effects now stack.
- Decreased Cyberware Capacity cost for various items.
- Perk Balance Changes: Adjusted the effectiveness of certain perks to improve balance and gameplay.
- Weapon Balance Tweaks: Various adjustments to weapon stats and functionality:
- Electric Baton: Adjusted stats and added multi-enemy hit capability.
- M2067 Defender, MA70 HB: Adjusted recoil patterns.
- DR-12 Quasar, HA-4 Grit, L-69 Zhuo, DB-4 Palica: Increased damage.
- Tech weapons with charge mode: Increased stability and damage in charge mode.
- Crafted Weapons: Now have up to two mod slots.
- Weapon Mods: Increased drop rate and availability in vendors’ stock.
- Increased max ammo limit for all ammo types.
- Fixed issues with crafted Iconic weapons, Cyberware Capacity Shards, and weapon/cyberware tier inconsistencies.
- Overclock now activates when controlling cameras.
- Kerenzikov now works with throwable weapons.
- Fixed achievement unlocking issues (“V for Vendetta” and “The Quick and the Dead”).
- Adjusted controller stick tilt angle for sprinting.
- Secondary cyberware stats will no longer be randomized after saving/loading.
- Improved Overclock functionality at level 60 in the Netrunner skill.
- Synapse Burnout quickhack: Adjusted damage bonus.
- Improved Movement and Responsiveness: Enhanced player movement for smoother and more responsive gameplay, including:
- Immediate sprinting after shooting.
- Improved sprint consistency after jumping, falling, and other actions.
- Sprint resumption after landing while shooting, aiming, scanning, or using melee weapons.
- Fixed issues with “Multitasker” perk.
- Fixed issues with “Ninjutsu” perk.
- Enhanced sprint area on controller sticks.
- Added sprint toggle functionality during dodge/dash.
- New dash slide mechanic.
- Improved slide direction and cancellation.
- Improved automatic vaulting and climbing during dash.
- Fixed shooting blockage while falling after air dash.
- Enhanced double-tap dodge/dash functionality.
- Fixed slide execution with Dynamic Control Scheme on controller.
- Crafting: Crafting specs for Active Chimera Core and Cerberus’s Decoded Behavioral System Component will disappear from the Crafting panel after being used.
- Cyberware: Players who completed Regina’s gigs before Update 2.0 will have their Neofiber cyberware replaced with Axolotl. Arm cyberware stats now apply correctly regardless of whether they are drawn or not.
- BioDyne Berserks: Fixed an issue where BioDyne Berserks’s effect would remain active permanently, preventing HP from dropping below 25%.
Vehicles & Traffic
- Open Highway: The previously closed-off highway spanning Westbrook, Santo Domingo, and Heywood is now accessible.
- Bike Leaning: Added leaning functionality for bikes, allowing for wheelies, endoes, flips, and spins.
- New Vehicles: Five new bikes and a new car, the Porsche 911 Cabriolet, are available for purchase from the Autofixer website.
- Vehicle Favorites: Added an option to mark vehicles as favorites in the Call Vehicle menu.
- Throwing Weapons While Riding Bikes: Players can now throw knives and axes while riding bikes.
- Improved Melee Animations: Enhanced melee animations while driving bikes in third-person perspective.
- Vehicle Swerving: Attacking an NPC driver now causes their vehicle to swerve.
Sound
- Overhauled Sound Effects: Improved sound effects in scenes from the base game’s main, side, and minor quests.
- Surround Sound: Up-mixed scenes to surround sound format.
- Added Sound Effects: Added missing sound effects.
- Voice Post-Processing Fixes: Fixed missing post-processing for voices.
- Gun and Combat Sound Improvements: Enhanced gun and combat sound effects.
- Vehicle Audio Improvements: Improved vehicle audio.
- Various Sound Fixes: Addressed various sound-related issues.
- Panam’s Holocall Audio Fix: Panam no longer sounds like she’s in a holocall when talking in person about events from Phantom Liberty.
Visual
- Lighting Improvements: Various lighting improvements throughout the city.
- Kiroshi Scanner Highlights: Improved visuals of Kiroshi scanner highlights.
- Blackwall Visual Consistency: Changed the appearance of the Blackwall in “Transmission” to match its appearance in Phantom Liberty.
- Cigarette Fix: Resolved an issue where a cigarette would be permanently attached to V’s hand.
- Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X Flame: Fixed flame alignment with exhaust pipes on the Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X.
- Electroshock VFX: Electroshock VFX from Microgenerator now appears when playing without Phantom Liberty.
- Cyberware Installation Animation Fix: Resolved issues with missing animations after installing cyberware at Ripperdocs.
UI
- Weapon Favorites: Added an option to mark weapons as favorites, preventing them from being sold, disassembled, or dropped.
- Resolution Scaling: Changed the presentation of Resolution Scaling modes in Graphics Settings and added a toggle to switch between DLSS Super Resolution, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1, and Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.2.
- Skill Progression Tooltip: Added a tooltip explaining XP gain in each skill within the Skill Progression panel.
- Combat Disabled Popup: Attempting to attack or shoot in areas where combat is disabled now displays an “Action Blocked” popup.
PC-Specific
- Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode: Exits preview status and includes several image quality improvements.
- ReSTIR GI: Improved path-traced lighting quality in RT: Overdrive mode, minimizing ghosting.
- DLSS Ray Reconstruction: Available in RT Ultra and other RT modes with RT Reflections enabled.
- Metallic Skin Effect Fix: Fixed an issue causing a metallic-like effect on V’s and NPCs’ skin when Ray Tracing was enabled.
- Character Hair Shadows: Fixed an issue where some characters’ hair did not cast shadows with Ray Tracing enabled.
- DualSense Controller Support: Added support for DualSense controllers.
- Samsung HDR10+ GAMING Support: Added support for Samsung HDR10+ GAMING for NVIDIA GPUs.
Console-Specific
- Xbox Save Failed Error: Fixed an issue causing a “Save failed – insufficient space” popup to appear despite not reaching the save limit.
- Xbox Phantom Liberty Installation Error: Added an error message that appears when Phantom Liberty is installed on an unsupported drive.
Misc
- Crash Fix: Fixed a crash occurring when attempting to reach the second sniper in “Play It Safe.”
- Radio Interaction: Fixed an issue preventing proper interaction with the radio in V’s apartment in Megabuilding H10.
- Controller Dead Zone: Fixed an issue where there was still a dead zone after setting the Inner Dead Zone on a controller to 0.
- New Secrets: Added more secrets for players to discover in Night City.
