Cyberpunk 2077: Relic Skill Guide for Phantom Liberty

What is The Relic Skill Tree?

The Relic Skill Tree is a new addition to Cyberpunk 2077 introduced in Update 2.0, specifically for owners of the Phantom Liberty expansion. It’s a unique perk system, different from the standard Perk Points and Attribute Points, that allows players to unlock the full potential of their cybernetic implants by using Relic Points. It’s essentially a Militech combat software uploaded into V’s system through the mysterious Songbird. This system provides players with powerful abilities that can turn the tide of battle, offering both life-saving and deadly advantages.

How to Set Best Relic Skills for Characters in Cyberpunk 2077

Here’s a breakdown of some of the most impactful skills in the Relic Skill Tree and how they can be used to enhance your character build.

Jailbreak

  • This skill charges your next leap attack whenever you perform a finisher with your Mantis Blades.
  • The charged leap has extended range and deals AOE damage, making it an excellent option for clearing out multiple enemies or engaging those at a distance.

Limiter Removal

  • This skill modifies the impact of your Gorilla Arms, causing enemies to be sent flying backward by a shockwave.
  • It also knocks down any enemy within range, making it a powerful crowd control tool and allowing you to create some breathing room for yourself.

Spatial Mapping

  • Spatial Mapping allows your V to jump towards the enemy using your Mantis Blades, increasing the chance of dismembering them for a short duration.
  • This skill is ideal for closing the gap between you and your targets, especially those at a distance, and complements melee builds exceptionally well.

Machine Learning

  • Destroying an enemy’s vulnerability grants a bonus to the frequency of new vulnerabilities appearing on enemies, along with an increase in critical damage against vulnerabilities.
  • This skill is beneficial for exploiting enemy weaknesses, especially in situations with multiple enemies, as it can increase your damage output significantly.

Data Tunneling

  • When an enemy is affected by a Monowire-uploaded quickhack, normal Monowire attacks that hit that enemy and other enemies simultaneously will spread the quickhack.
  • This skill can quickly spread quickhacks across a group of enemies, making it a valuable tool for controlling crowds and weakening multiple targets simultaneously.

How do attributes and perks work in Phantom Liberty

Each attribute in Cyberpunk 2077 has a base level of three points, allowing you to invest in low-tier skills. To unlock higher-tier skills, you’ll need to allocate more attribute points. The maximum level for each attribute is 20, enabling you to select the highest-tier or legend perks. You can reset your attribute points once, giving you flexibility in experimenting with different builds.

When choosing perks, remember that your options are numerous, but your points are limited. You will need to level up to acquire more points. Ultimately, your choices should align with your preferred playstyle and iconic weapon choices. Additionally, each attribute features perks that affect vehicular combat, offering versatility in your approach.

How to Get More Relic Points in Phantom Liberty

Relic Points are gained by locating Militech Data Terminals scattered throughout Dogtown. These terminals are marked on your map with a blue ‘R’ icon and will appear when you’re nearby. You’ll also hear a distinctive high-pitched beep every few seconds as you approach them.

Upon reaching the terminal, interact with it to download operational data and receive a single Relic Point. You can also obtain three Relic Points from Songbird right from the start when she unlocks Relic powers outside Dogtown. Additionally, you’ll receive another three Relic Points from Songbird roughly halfway through the Phantom Liberty storyline, totaling six Relic Points simply for playing through the expansion.

By understanding how the Relic Skill Tree operates and how to acquire more Relic Points, you’ll be equipped to create powerful and effective builds in Phantom Liberty. As you explore the new content and engage in challenging encounters, use these skills to your advantage and conquer the streets of Night City.
