Crafting with Stable Flux in Fallout 76

Nuclear Blast Zones

Stable flux is a rare resource in Fallout 76 used to craft powerful items like fusion cores, jetpacks, and ultracite ammo. To even begin the process of obtaining stable flux, you must first create a nuclear blast zone. This requires finishing the Enclave questline and obtaining a nuclear keycard from a cargobot.

Once you have access to a nuclear silo, use the website NukaCrypt to find the correct launch code for the silo. When launching a nuke, select a target area rich in vegetation for optimal raw flux yield. For example, the Cranberry Bog in the south is known for its abundance of mutated flora and the chance to trigger a Scorchbeast Queen event, both of which reward stable flux.

Remember to equip radiation protection like hazmat suits, power armor, or Chinese stealth armor, along with a healthy supply of Rad-X and RadAway to mitigate the high radiation levels in the blast zone.

Raw Flux Locations

After creating a blast zone, you’ll find raw flux materials in the form of mutated plant life. These materials are the foundation for crafting stable flux.

Glowing Mass, Hardened Mass, and High-Radiation Fluids Location

In addition to raw flux, you’ll need three more materials to craft stable flux: glowing mass, hardened mass, and high-radiation fluids. These materials are obtained from creatures within the nuclear zone.

Specifically, look for Glowing variants of enemies. They have a chance to drop the required mass and fluids upon defeat. Some common enemies that yield these materials include: Assaultron, Eyebot, Feral ghoul, Glowing one, Mr. Gutsy, Protectron, Radtoad, Robobrain, Scorched, Sentry bot, Super mutant, and various Glowing versions of creatures like Anglers, Ants, Bloatflies, Bloodbugs, Cave Crickets, Deathclaws, Fog Crawlers, Gulpers, Hermit Crabs, Honey Beasts, Megasloths, Mirelurks, Mole Miners, Mole Rats, Mongrels, Mothmen, Mutant Hounds, Plagued Radrats, Radroaches, Radscorpions, Radstags, Snallygasters, Stingwings, Ticks, Wendigos, Wolves, and Yao Guais.

Tips on Flux Farming

  • Raw flux decays over time, turning into inert flux, which cannot be used to craft stable flux. Make sure to gather as much raw flux as possible while it’s still viable.
  • You can also purchase and sell stable flux with other players. This can be useful for obtaining specific colors or making a profit.
  • The most valuable uses of stable flux are for crafting jetpacks and mutation serums. Jetpacks significantly improve travel and exploration, while mutation serums can be sold for a substantial profit.
  • Avoid using stable flux to craft fusion cores as they are easily obtained from power armor spawns or power plant workshops.
  • To efficiently acquire Ultracite ammo, craft it once using stable flux, then complete Daily Ops missions with a teammate who can kill enemies for you. Enemies in Daily Ops drop ammo for the weapon you’re holding, including Ultracite ammo if you’re using a Prime Receiver.
  • Equip the Green Thumb perk to double the yield of harvested flora. It requires only one Perception perk point and significantly increases the efficiency of your raw flux gathering.
  • Nuclear blast zones create fissure sites containing Ultracite veins and Scorchbeasts. These are excellent sources of Ultracite ore and additional materials for crafting stable flux.

By following these tips and strategies, you can efficiently farm stable flux in Fallout 76 and unlock some of the most powerful and coveted items in the game.
