
College Football 25 Title Update 2 Patch Notes
Nearly a month after its release, College Football 25 is receiving its first major update. This update introduces new playbook options, uniform pieces, gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, and more. EA Sports has outlined these changes in a new Campus Huddle blog post.
New Playbook Options
This update expands the offensive strategies for 35 teams by introducing 8 new shotgun formations, providing more variety and depth to their playbooks. Some of these new formations include:
- Bunch Quads Open (Texas Tech, Western Michigan)
- Deuce Twins Over (Buffalo, Toledo)
- Slot F Wing (NC State, Liberty)
- Split Pro Far (NC State, Liberty)
- Split Pro Near (NC State)
- Tight Y Off Flex (Florida)
- Wing HB Wk Close (Indiana, Minnesota)
- Wing Slot Over (Texas A&M, Kansas State)
New Uniform Pieces
College Football 25 sees the addition of new uniform pieces for a range of teams. Here are some of the schools that have received new uniforms:
- Baylor
- Oregon
- Iowa State
- Ole Miss
- Vanderbilt
- Bowling Green
- Northwestern
- UTEP
- Boise State
- New Mexico State
- App State
- Texas State
- Louisiana
- New Mexico
- South Alabama
Additionally, some teams like TCU and Missouri have received updated uniform pieces to reflect their 2024 season looks.
Gameplay Tweaks
This update introduces several gameplay adjustments, aiming to refine the game’s mechanics and provide a more balanced experience:
- Improved offensive line behavior, resulting in fewer ineligible receiver downfield penalties during RPO plays.
- Adjusted pursuit angles for defenders, making them more effective in closing gaps.
- Reduced frequency of broken tackles from trailing defenders.
- Enhanced the effectiveness of defensive backs in shedding blocks on the perimeter.
- Increased the stamina penalty for running out of stamina during plays.
Dynasty Mode Updates
Dynasty mode receives several improvements, including:
- Players can now create up to 20 coaches in online Dynasty leagues.
- Fixed an issue where FCS teams were using professional players instead of collegiate ones.
- Adjusted the Toughest Places to Play formula to better reflect historical win rates and attendance.
- Updated defensive schemes and playbooks for several teams, including USC, UCLA, and Mississippi State.
Road to Glory Enhancements
Road to Glory gets new content and bug fixes, including:
- An additional scenario and NIL content have been added.
- Fixed an issue that caused players’ games to crash when quitting a Position Battle.
- Reworked the Wear and Tear UI to accurately reflect position-specific ratings impacts.
College Football Ultimate Team Improvements
The Ultimate Team mode sees a variety of fixes and quality-of-life improvements, including:
- Generating ‘Best Lineup’ no longer changes equipped visuals and playbooks.
- Fixed a crash during halftime kickoffs in Champs mode.
- Improved UI for Attributes tab on Item Detail screen.
- Fixed issues with Conference Filters in the Auction House.
Presentation Updates
The visual presentation of the game gets several updates:
- Numerous stadiums have received updates, including Holiday Bowl, Texas State, and Kansas.
- Fixed an issue where the USC mascot disappeared during opening ceremonies.
- Restored opening chants for Penn State, FSU, and Tennessee on Xbox Series S.
Road to the College Football Playoff Changes
The Road to the College Football Playoff mode has been revamped:
- The mode now features 5 tiers, instead of 3.
