Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 20 Patch Notes
Minthara’s Improved Following Behavior
Hotfix 20 addresses a persistent issue with Minthara, the controversial drow companion. While her personality remains unchanged – she’s still her independent self – a bug preventing her from consistently following the party in Acts 2 and 3 has been squashed. This means she’ll now be more reliably present during your adventures, though don’t expect her to abandon her free-spirited nature entirely. Larian Studios assures players that this update simply enhances her adherence to the party, resolving a frustrating gameplay problem.
Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements
Beyond Minthara, Hotfix 20 tackles a broad range of bugs affecting various aspects of the game. A significant fix addresses split-screen issues, eliminating a 30-second black screen for the second player. Other improvements include resolving a combat-halting bug where the environment wouldn’t take its turn and silencing repetitive trespassing dialogue near the Steel Watch Foundry. These fixes contribute to a smoother, more enjoyable gameplay experience by eliminating frustrating roadblocks and immersion-breaking elements.
Addressing Exploits and Improving Stability
Larian Studios also took aim at several in-game exploits in Hotfix 20. One exploit that allowed players to gain infinite money via container manipulation during trading has been patched. Another exploit involving the duplication of Herdmaster Skardjall’s Scale Mail has also been removed. The developers have also implemented crash safeguards designed to prevent the game from crashing and sending players back to the main menu if a save game fails to load. These fixes maintain the game’s integrity and ensure a fair gaming experience for all.
