Assassin’s Creed Mirage Gameplay

Stealth/Combat

Gameplay emphasizes stealth, treating combat as a last resort. Basim boasts a variety of tools and abilities for both offensive and defensive maneuvers, including a hidden blade, smoke bombs, and throwing knives. Combat mechanics are refined, with health bars replacing generic enemy levels and a focus on countering and dodge rolls. A new ability, Assassin’s Focus, allows for pausing time and chaining multiple assassinations.

Parkour

Parkour is central to the experience, enabling players to traverse Baghdad’s environment seamlessly. The game revisits familiar parkour moves while incorporating new ones, like pole vaulting, showcasing a commitment to fluidity and exploration. The design of Baghdad is meticulously tailored to support extensive parkour opportunities.

History of Baghdad

Mirage integrates an educational feature, “History of Baghdad,” within the main gameplay. This feature offers an in-depth historical perspective on 9th-century Baghdad, including detailed information about culture, beliefs, economy, and daily life. The feature provides curated content at 66 in-game locations, enabling players to delve deeper into the world.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Story

Set in 9th-century Baghdad, the story revolves around Basim Ibn Ishaq. Initially a cunning street thief, Basim’s journey takes him down a path of mastering the Assassin’s Creed. The story involves Basim’s participation in a hidden organization, alongside their rituals and beliefs. Basim’s origins in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are crucial to the overall narrative and provide context for his actions within this period.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Map

The map, similar in scale to Paris (Assassin’s Creed Unity) or Constantinople (Assassin’s Creed Revelations), presents Baghdad with four distinct districts. Exploration is encouraged within the city’s varied environments, featuring detailed structures perfect for parkour. The design prioritizes a dense and intricate feel.

How Long to Beat Assassin’s Creed Mirage

The game is estimated to take approximately 20-30 hours for a typical playthrough. Completionist runs can take longer, and the gameplay experience generally feels shorter compared to open-world titles like Odyssey and Valhalla.

Will Assassin’s Creed Mirage Have DLC?

Ubisoft has confirmed no plans for DLC or extensive post-launch content. Cosmetic microtransactions will be available, but the game will not feature gambling or loot boxes. This decision signifies a return to a more focused experience with a tighter narrative scope.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Developer

Developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the game benefits from their experience in developing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC, notably “Wrath of the Druids.” Ubisoft Bordeaux also worked on other Ubisoft titles, demonstrating their skills in game development.
