Blue Hellgate Albion Online Guide

Albion Online Guide to Blue Hellgate

Why Blue Zones?

Blue Zone Hellgates offer a less aggressive combat experience compared to other Hellgates. These 2v2 lethal battles focus on strategic combat rather than outright killing. The core mechanics are designed to prevent complete losses, meaning that one player being knocked out doesn’t automatically result in the whole team losing. Your loot is partially secured, making Blue Zones a good choice for teams to protect valuable items while still engaging in competition.

Entering the Albion Online Blue Zone

Accessing a Blue Zone Hellgate can be done in a few ways. The most common method involves locating a Tier 4 Blue Zone Hellgate near the Royal Cities. Alternatively, you can purchase a Hellgate Ritual from the Market or create one at the Artifact Foundry. When creating a Hellgate at the Foundry, set the size to 2 players and choose “No” for Lethal mode. This will create an entry point nearby; for a limited time only the creator of the Hellgate can see the location. Once discovered, everyone on your team needs to activate the entrance via a spell to enter the Hellgate.

Requirements

  • Minimum Item Power (IP): 800.
  • Team Size: 2 players per team.
  • Maximum Item Power: The item power cap for 2v2 non-lethal battles is 900. If a player’s IP exceeds 900, it is automatically adjusted to 900.
  • Important Note: The 800 IP requirement does not include adjustments for Mastery or overcharged gear.

Infamy

Gaining infamy in Blue Zone Hellgates follows a similar pattern to other Hellgates. Killing monsters and NPCs, along with team victories, contribute to your infamy score. Each Hellgate zone tracks its infamy separately. High infamy scores help you match against similar opponents in future battles. Conversely, losses can lead to lower infamy and potentially match you up with weaker teams.

Raging Lava

If a Hellgate match extends significantly, the environment begins to fill with raging lava. This lava flow progressively damages players, starting with a reduction in health points. Prolonged exposure leads to immunity to Crowd Control (CC) damage. Thus, swift action is key to avoiding significant losses.

Completing the Hellgate

A Blue Zone Hellgate is considered completed once 100 infamy points are achieved by the team, or if no rival teams invade. In non-lethal battles, the threshold for winning is significantly lower (100 infamy) compared to lethal modes (500 infamy). The winning team is awarded with a unique marker on the mini-map, guiding them to the reward chest.

Rewards

Upon completing a Blue Zone Hellgate, a treasure chest marks the completion location on the mini-map. The contents of the reward chest depend on various factors, including the outcome of the battle. Defeating invaders or competing with stronger teams yields more substantial rewards. The reward location also sometimes contains another entrance to another Hellgate, offering a quick re-entry point into the battle cycle without having to purchase another ritual.

Conclusion

This guide provides a foundational understanding of Albion Online Blue Zone Hellgates. While the basics are essential, success often relies on player skill, pre-battle preparation, strategic planning, and effectively managing combat encounters. Remember that purchasing Albion Online Silver can expedite the Hellgate process.
