In just under a month, the hotly anticipated action role-playing game Path of Exile 2 will be released and the developers will release 30 minutes of new gameplay. In it, they show a few new tricks that you can use to maximize your damage in the game.
What kind of new gameplay is this?
It is a gameplay walkthrough that was recorded at the Tokyo Game Show. Also present: Game Director Jonathan Rogers and the former president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida.
For the first 20 minutes of the walkthrough, Rogers shows some of the new classes and how the battles in Path of Exile 2 are to be made even more exciting. After that, he and Yoshida play a round in local co-op mode – with a PS5 controller, of course.
New classes and synergies between abilities
The showcase begins with the Mercenary, one of 12 classes in Path of Exile 2. It’s supposed to feel like you’re playing a shooter. Depending on your needs, you switch between ammunition types that rely on area damage or pure penetration.
Certain abilities and weapons have useful synergies. For example, if you freeze your opponents, you can immediately smash them with a shotgun shot. This is to prevent you from spamming the same skills over and over again.
Secondly, the Warrior is introduced. He fights with a powerful warhammer. You can see some of the most exciting innovations here for the first time:
- You can change the direction of certain abilities while using them
- A dodge roll can be used to cancel abilities
- Some abilities have special effects when used in combination with others
If you have created magma on the ground with one ability, another ability causes this magma to shoot out of the cracks in the ground. This will cause extra damage to enemies that pass through this area.
The monk fights with a staff and can summon a bell if you have dealt enough blows. Ringing the bell increases its damage and can also be combined with your abilities. Path of Exile 2 wants you to experiment with your skills and find new ways to take your damage to the next level.
Actually, you should be able to get started in Path of Exile 2 on November 15, but the release has been postponed to December 6, 2024. The reason for this was that the developers did not want to break a promise. Buy POE Currency to prepare yourself for the ultimate launch and gain an edge in the revamped world of Wraeclast!
