Gold is an important resource that you need for all kinds of things in Diablo 4. One player has now farmed it until he reached the limit.
What is gold so important for?
- In Diablo 4, you need gold to upgrade healing potions, upgrade your equipment, and trade with other players, among other things.
- While gold was so scarce in Season 4 that Blizzard had to bring a patch, players are accumulating a lot in the current Season 7.
- On top of that, there are regular events in Diablo 4, such as the “Mother’s Blessing”, where you can farm all the more gold.
The gold limit is causing confusion – everywhere you read a different number, reports user Epimolophant on Reddit. So he decided without further ado to get to the bottom of the matter himself and simply find out the maximum amount of gold himself.
You can accumulate 99,999,999 gold
What is the gold limit?
According to user Epimolophant, the gold limit is currently “100 billion minus 1” – so you can collect 99,999,999,999 gold in Diablo 4. If you reach this limit, more gold will simply be left lying around, similar to the oboluses.
This is how the player proceeded: In his Reddit post, the user tells how he carried out his “test”. He diligently farmed items and sold them to other players – even some that would have been upgrades to his own build.
When he wanted to sell a 3GA head protection (a head protection with 3 larger affixes), he was apparently already facing the gold limit:
At the last trade, I stood at 98.6 billion and sold a 3GA helmet for 4 billion. It was the moment of truth. But when I clicked on “Accept”, nothing happened […]. Then I said, “Just give me 1.3 billion,” and it worked. I went outside, killed a few mobs, picked up gold, and finally reached the final limit: 99,999,999,999. After that, I couldn’t pick anything up.
What the user wants to do with his huge mountain of gold, he himself does not yet know exactly. “I will probably spend (or give away) all the gold, but not immediately,” he writes at the end of his post.
A player was looking for a certain item in the Diablo 4 trade channel – and came across someone who not only gave him two perfect uniques for his build but also a billion gold in the game.
