Starting the Warden Vault Quest

To initiate the Warden Vault quest, navigate to Rivain and locate Warden Castle. Inside, a series of intricate puzzles await. Solving each puzzle unlocks a Grey Warden seal. Once all three seals are activated, the vault beneath the main hall opens. The entrance is found through a hidden staircase on the castle’s west side. Expect challenges, including obstacles and potential enemy encounters, throughout the quest.

Puzzle 1: Breaking the First Lock

This initial puzzle centers on lighting torches in a specific order. Here’s the sequence:

• Locate the Gaatlok barrel near the fast travel beacon.
• Explode the barrel with your Lyrium Dagger or Taash’s fire ability to create a path.
• Proceed to a room with barrels. Destroy them to reveal three Grey Warden crests with unlit torches.
• Light the torches in this order: middle, then right, followed by left.
• Navigate up the stairs, turn left to find a door. Open it, knock down the ladder, and activate the lever to unlock the first seal. This completes the first puzzle.

Puzzle 2: Solving the Ghost Puzzle for the Second Lock

This puzzle involves ghostly apparitions guiding you to the next seal. Follow these steps:

1. From the main hall, head south and clear any enemies.
2. Find a skeleton surrounded by butterflies. Interact to summon a ghostly figure.
3. Return to the main hall, ascend a ladder, and descend the stairs on the left.
4. Interact with another skeleton to further the ghost’s path. Follow its direction, heading north, then right.
5. Locate the statue near the main entrance. Interact with the ghost near the statue to open a room with a lever. Pull the lever to unlock the second lock.

Puzzle 3: Finding the Wisp for the Third Lock

The final puzzle combines wisp collection and combat:

1. Return to the area where you solved the ghost puzzle.
2. Proceed south to a hallway with Antaam enemies. Clear them out.
3. Locate a pot behind the statue and detonate it using Taash’s ability.
4. This action reveals a ladder. Climb up the ladder.
5. Find a wisp in the upper level.
6. Return to the skeleton in the main hallway. Interact with the wisp here to reveal a lever.
7. Pull the lever to unlock the final seal and complete the puzzle.

Entering the Warden Vault and Claiming Your Rewards

After successfully activating all three seals, the Warden Vault opens. Inside, numerous treasure chests await. These rewards greatly enhance your character’s capabilities:
