A brand new cooking pot
Cooking was a significant aspect of survival in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While it was possible to simply eat raw ingredients, combining different items to cook a meal provided Link with crucial stat boosts. In Tears of the Kingdom, the cooking system receives a major upgrade with the introduction of a new cooking pot Zonai device.
Unlike the previous game, where players had to locate cooking pots in villages or stables, the Zonai cooking pot offers a portable solution, allowing Link to cook practically anywhere. This Zonai device, however, is a consumable resource and breaks after each use, emphasizing the importance of planning your meals. With the freedom to cook on-the-go, players can prepare hearty meals before challenging battles or even while exploring the skies of Hyrule.
Link’s recipe cards
Tears of the Kingdom introduces a new recipe database to Link’s submenus. This comprehensive collection features a list of recipes, each accompanied by a detailed description outlining the necessary ingredients, stat boosts, and a visual representation of the finished dish. The recipes act as a handy reference for players, similar to the recipe cards found in meal delivery kits.
While the recipe database simplifies finding recipes, players still need to manually collect and combine ingredients within the cooking pot. The game doesn’t automate the cooking process, requiring players to assemble ingredients based on the selected recipe. However, the database eliminates the need to rely on memory for recipe combinations, making cooking more accessible and efficient.
