Solve A Puzzle, Get A Korok Seed
Scattered throughout Hyrule, you’ll encounter Koroks who need your help. Finding these elusive beings usually requires solving a puzzle. These puzzles are less intricate than Shrine challenges and can range from simple tasks like moving a Korok with a large backpack to a specific location or lifting a seemingly misplaced rock.
Lifting A Suspicious Rock
If you come across a rock that looks out of place, try lifting it! It’s a common way for Koroks to hide. You can typically lift them with a single swing of your weapon.
Pinwheels
Pinwheels made of leaves and sticks are a common sight. Approach them to reveal a target or a series of targets, often accompanied by a “pop” sound. The challenge might involve following a light with a time limit or shooting balloons. Complete the task to earn a Korok Seed.
Tree Stumps
Pay attention to unusually short tree stumps. Standing on them often triggers a timed race where you must reach a floating circle in the distance. Time your movements correctly to earn a Korok Seed.
Chains With Corks
You’ll find stumps with corks and chains attached to them. Use Ultrahand to connect the chain to something like a wooden board or a boulder, and pull to reveal a Korok and a Seed.
Stone Placements
Look for patterns of stones where one stone is out of place. Position the misplaced stone to complete the pattern, revealing a hidden Korok.
Reuniting Friends
A new puzzle type in Tears of the Kingdom involves reuniting Koroks with their friends. Use your abilities like Ultrahand to help the Korok reach their friend. Completing this task will earn you two Korok Seeds.
Dandelions
Chase after Dandelions to earn a Korok Seed. These plants will move erratically, so be ready to follow them. Sometimes, they may spawn out of your sight, requiring a little searching.
Statue Offering
Statues holding empty bowls can be found throughout Hyrule. Offering an Apple to the statue will summon a Korok who will reward you with a Korok Seed.
Bring Your Korok Seeds to Hestu
Hestu, the Korok who loves to trade, can be found in Central Hyrule near the Sky Tower. He will ask you to defeat nearby trees before accepting your Korok Seeds. After you’ve cleared the trees, Hestu can help you expand your inventory slots for weapons, shields, and bows. He can be found later in Lookout Landing.
Remember, every time you expand your inventory, you will need more Korok Seeds for further expansion. With many Koroks waiting to be found, you can steadily increase your inventory space. It’s not necessary to collect every Seed right away; you can collect them at your own pace.
