Silco in LoL: Who is he?

Silco in Arcane

Arcane, the animated series based on the League of Legends universe, introduced several new characters to fans. Among them, Silco has emerged as a prominent and compelling figure. He quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his complex personality.

In Arcane, Silco functions as a primary antagonist. He is portrayed as a revolutionary who passionately fights for the independence of the Undercity, a district subjected to the rule of the wealthy and opulent city of Piltover. The show delicately portrays him, revealing layers to his motivations.

Initially, Silco worked alongside Vander in the fight for Undercity’s autonomy. However, differing ideologies caused a rift between them. Silco’s methods became increasingly ruthless. He sought a more decisive and forceful approach to achieve his goals, highlighting his descent into morally grey territory. This difference of opinion is the start of everything.

Silco sees Vander’s leadership as soft and ineffective against the Piltover elite. He begins to gather followers who agree with his hard-line approach. The series beautifully shows the complexities of a character torn between idealism and pragmatism. His dedication to Undercity is never in question.

Silco in League of Legends

Before the release of Arcane, a character called Silco did not exist within the main League of Legends game. He was created specifically for the animated series. Following Arcane’s success, requests for Silco’s inclusion into the game were made. This shows the impact and popularity he has.

Responding to fan demands, Riot Games introduced Silco to Teamfight Tactics (TFT). TFT is an auto-battler game set in the League of Legends universe. This allowed players to experience Silco’s strategic mind and unique abilities in a new and interesting way.

Silco appeared in TFT Set 6.5 as a 5-cost unit. He possessed the unique “Mastermind” origin and the “Scholar” class. The Mastermind trait granted mana to units positioned in front of him. This is a very unique buff for any team. The Scholar class provided periodic mana regeneration for the entire team.

In TFT, Silco wields the “Unstable Concoction” ability. When his mana is full, he injects a low-health ally with a potent mixture. This grants bonus health, attack speed, and crowd control immunity. However, the concoction is unstable and causes the unit to explode. This damages surrounding enemies. A high-risk, high-reward ability.

Will We See Silco in the MOBA Game Soon?

Riot Games has stated that Silco is currently intended as a TFT exclusive. As of now, there are no confirmed plans to integrate him into the core League of Legends game. It is important for players to remember that these things can change in time.

Despite the current stance, a future League of Legends appearance for Silco is not entirely impossible. If his popularity continues to surge, particularly with the upcoming second season of Arcane, Riot Games might reconsider. It is important to note that this is a great opportunity for the character to be developed.

For now, fans of the cunning and ambitious villain will need to be patient. They can still enjoy Silco’s presence in TFT and eagerly await further developments. He will be there to strategize in that game. The future of Silco in the League of Legends universe remains open.

The success of Arcane has shown how a character can captivate the audience. This will continue to be the case in the future. The potential for Silco to enter the main game will likely depend on fan demand and future storyline developments.
