Lords of the Fallen Patch 1.1.224: Major Soulslike Updates

Lords of the Fallen Patch 1.1.224 Makes Big Changes to the Soulslike

Lords of the Fallen 1.1.224 Patch Notes:

This latest patch for Lords of the Fallen, version 1.1.224, brings significant improvements and substantial adjustments to the game experience, particularly focusing on the New Game Plus (NG+) mode and enemy density.

New Game Plus (NG+) Revamp:

A major overhaul of the New Game Plus system is one of the core changes. Players can now, after completing their initial playthrough, choose between progressing directly to the next New Game + (e.g., NG+2 after NG+1) or replaying the current New Game at the same difficulty. This option preserves character progression, items, and unlocks, but resets the game world, quests, and NPCs. This allows players to focus on completion without the increased difficulty of succeeding NG+ runs.

Further NG+ Enhancements:

Upcoming enhancements to the New Game Plus mode are planned for a Thursday, October 26th update. The upcoming adjustments to the NG+ mode include a gradual removal of world elements during successive playthroughs, culminating in a significant decrease of content in NG+3. This approach maintains the original game experience while gradually escalating the challenge for those who desire a more difficult run.

NG+ Modifier System:

A future feature, planned for release before the year’s end, is an NG+ modifier system, enabling players to personalize their NG+ experiences by modifying various aspects of the game. This includes the option to completely retain or remove vestige locations in any NG+ playthroughs, introducing hardcore mode, item randomizers and enemy randomizers for greater personalization.

Enemy Density Adjustments:

The patch tackles enemy density issues. Improvements to the “leashing system” restrict how far enemies will follow players from their spawn points, preventing large swarms of enemies from relentlessly pursuing players through level sections. Further improvements, scheduled for Thursday’s update, focus on reducing enemy presence in particularly challenging areas, while retaining these in NG+ runs for heightened difficulty. Crowd behaviors will also be refined, leading to less frequent and less damaging swarms.

Performance and Stability Improvements:

Addressing performance concerns, significant improvements in GPU stability have reduced crashes to less than a third of launch levels, now impacting only 4% of players hourly. The team is actively engaged in fixing remaining 0.28% of crashes arising from code issues, while also cooperating with Nvidia, AMD, and Epic to solve further player-reported issues. Further key performance improvements are expected in the upcoming Thursday patch.

Progression Restoration:

For players whose progression was affected by bugs, Hexworks has dedicated resources for restoration. A team is in place to handle corrupted or downgraded saves, rectifying them to their previous states before the glitch.

Cross-play Updates:

Console crossplay will be fully launched on October 23rd. Simultaneous full crossplay implementation on all platforms is scheduled for the Thursday update.

Summary of Changes:

In summary, Patch 1.1.224 significantly improves the New Game Plus experience by allowing flexibility in difficulty and world retention. The patch tackles frustrating enemy density issues by modifying how enemies pursue and swarm players. The patch also improves game stability and performance, addressing reported issues from launch. Finally, an NG+ modifier system and save restoration support rounds out the update’s focus on improving the overall game experience.
