New Nightmare Difficulty Setting
Prepare for the ultimate test of skill with the new Nightmare Difficulty setting. This mode cranks up the challenge, demanding precision and strategy. Enemies are more relentless, resources are scarce, and survival depends on mastering every combat technique. Perfect parries become essential, and even the slightest mistake can be fatal. Stealth is more critical than ever as enemy awareness is heightened. Only the most seasoned assassins will be able to conquer this brutal difficulty. Are you brave enough to face the nightmare?
Toggle Headgear in Cutscenes
Customize your visual experience with the new option to toggle headgear in cutscenes. Now, you can choose whether or not your character’s headgear is displayed during cinematic moments. This feature allows players to better appreciate character customization and the unique looks they’ve created. Whether you prefer a more traditional appearance or want to show off your favorite helmet, the choice is yours. Please note that some romance-specific scenes will override this setting. Enjoy the flexibility to tailor your visual experience!
VFX Toggles
Gain greater control over your gameplay experience with the new VFX toggles. These settings allow you to customize the visual effects displayed in the game. Hide or show loot on dead bodies, the last known position indicator, or special attack indicators for enemies. These options provide a cleaner, less cluttered view, or can enhance the tactical information available to you. Fine-tune your settings to create a more immersive and personalized gaming experience.
Open World Alarm
The world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows just became even more dynamic! Introducing the Open World Alarm system, where repeated attacks on civilians or military units outside of castles and enemy camps will trigger a province-wide alert. Once alarmed, a group of formidable Guardians will actively hunt you down. This new mechanic adds a layer of consequence to your actions, encouraging strategic gameplay and making the open world feel more alive and reactive to your choices.
Horse Camera Presets
Enhance your exploration of feudal Japan with the new Horse Camera Presets! While riding your mount, you can now switch between three different camera perspectives. Hold down the appropriate button to cycle through these presets, allowing you to choose the view that best suits your preference. Immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes and enjoy a more cinematic experience as you traverse the world on horseback. Discover the beauty of Japan from a fresh perspective.
Ultra Low Specs for PC
Good news for PC players with lower-end hardware! Update 1.0.6 introduces an “Ultra Low” visual quality setting. This new mode is designed to optimize performance on less powerful GPUs, allowing more players to experience Assassin’s Creed Shadows with improved framerates. Enjoy the game even with limited hardware, without sacrificing the core gameplay experience. This ensures a smoother and more accessible experience for a wider range of PC configurations.
