In Diablo 4, you can craft boss materials from other resources. However, one of these materials has apparently been forgotten by players—and some have never noticed it despite several hours of play. To make the most of your crafting experience and gear upgrades, don’t forget to stock up and Buy Diablo 4 Gold for all your in-game needs!
What materials are involved?
It’s about the Khazra Horns, which you can get as a drop from Torment Bosses, World Bosses and from the “Dark Citadel”. You can trade the horns at the alchemist for items that you can use to summon the bosses at the Torment levels in Diablo 4. This will give you the materials you need for Duriel and Andariel.
Example: To craft a Shard of Torment for Duriel, you will need:
- 5 Khazra Horns
- 9 Living Steel
- 4 Abstruse Seals
- 15 Cloudy Crystals
- 50,000 Gold
If you’ve never heard of the Khazra horns or have forgotten about them, you’re in a similar situation to those who are currently discussing them on Reddit. Others have already used the Mats for crafting and find them “absolutely superfluous”.
“A pretty bad deal”
Why are the Khazra horns not used?
If you look at the opinions in the post on Reddit, there are various reasons:
- On the one hand, it is quite “expensive” to craft the boss mats from the horns, because: You don’t just need the horns, but other boss mats, such as living steel, crafting mats and 50,000 gold per item. It is more worthwhile to farm the bosses for the Mats.
- You use a lot of materials when crafting, which is simply not worth it. im_just_thinking writes: “You turn a bunch of the existing boss mats into very little of other boss mats – and consume crafting mats in the process.”
- You lose the chance to get Mythic Uniques because you skip the bosses that you would otherwise kill for the Mats. The coveted mythic items can drop from all Torment bosses with a small chance. This is “a pretty bad deal,” says the author of the post.
The Khazra horns have been in Diablo 4 for a few seasons, and many players note in the comments: They have never heard of it. shinzakuro writes: “1,500 hours of gameplay, everything done, no idea what this is or what it does.” And the existence of the item has also passed Adventurous_Ad_4145 by: “I’m not trying to be funny, but I’ve spent over 500 hours in this game, read tons of stuff and still never heard of it.”
“It’s okay if you want to be lazy”
What are the horns good for then?
In fact, there are other opinions in the comments. For example, xxzincxx writes: “I find them useful – out of pure laziness – for the Echo of Varshan, because I didn’t need anything from the boss.” And Ayuvii thinks: “If you want to be a little lazy, it might be okay at that moment. But I think it’s something superfluous that should simply be removed.”
Other users thought it would make more sense if you could make certain mats from the horns, such as any material made from 5-10 Khazra horns. “It would be much more useful if Mats could be converted into Mats of the same rarity. For example, I always have more shards than eggs. It would be great if I could turn some shards into eggs to balance the amounts,” writes irresponsibleadult80.
Do you use the Khazra horns out of “laziness” or because you have tons of them anyway? Or do you prefer to farm the bosses to get the materials? Where the Diablo 4 community was anything but lazy is the winter event that is currently running.
