D2 Procsin Build

What the heck is a Procsin in D2R?

The Procsin, or Proc Assassin, is a dynamic and engaging build in Diablo 2 Resurrected. It leverages the concept of “proccing,” where specific skills trigger randomly with a certain chance on each attack. The core of this build revolves around maximizing attack speed to increase the likelihood of these skill procs. The main weapon to trigger these events is the Dragon Talon Kick.

This strategy differs from traditional builds focused on sustained damage. Procsins prioritize high-frequency attacks, aiming to consistently trigger various elemental skills, like Frozen Orb and Tornado. It requires careful itemization and skill selection for optimal execution in hell difficulty. The high potential for consistent, varied damage output makes it appealing for those who enjoy a dynamic gameplay experience.

Tips on Kick Abilities

Not all attributes enhance kick abilities. Certain stat mods are either useless or counterproductive for this build. Here’s a breakdown of beneficial and detrimental attributes.

  • Beneficial: Crushing Blow, Open Wounds, Slows Target, Elemental Damage, Life/Mana steal, Life/Mana after kills, Chance to Cast on Attack, % Damage (excluding weapon), +AR (excluding weapon), %AR, Blind, Freeze, Prevent Monster Heal, Magic Find, Gold Find.
  • Detrimental: Deadly Strike, Enhanced Weapon Damage (not visible in character sheet), % Damage to Demons/Undead, Minimum/Maximum Damage, Claw Mastery (boots are not claws!), Melee-specific mods like IAS, Crushing Blow, Open Wounds from secondary claw in dual-claw configurations.

Rune Word: Rift is a key component for Procsin because it enhances the build’s effectiveness. Rift allows for the triggering of various spells, adding layers of damage and mitigating immunity issues. This helps ensure consistent damage against many monsters. Its fast attack speed enables the build to quickly trigger a multitude of damaging skills.

Gearing a Procsin/Riftsin

Weapons: Rift is crucial. For alternative, high-end options, consider Destruction, Volcano, Molten Boulder, or Nova, though Rift remains the most practical choice for the majority of players due to rune costs and accessibility.

Armor & Accessories:

  • Shield: Head Hunter’s Glory Shield, for multiple socket opportunities, enhancing Frozen Orb damage.
  • Helmet: Nightwing, for significant cold damage buffs, and +2 to all skills.
  • Belt: Thundergod’s Belt, to improve survivability against lightning-based damage.
  • Gloves: Dracul’s Grasp, offering increased strength, life tap, life steal, and open wounds.
  • Boots: Gore Riders, for substantial damage boosts compatible with Dragon Talon Kick.
  • Rings: Raven Frost to enhance mobility and survivability, and Dwarf Star for fire damage mitigation and extra life.
  • Amulet: Mara’s Kaleidoscope, for significant skill boost, resistance, and diverse stat bonuses.
  • Armor: Enigma for teleport flexibility, Chain of Honor for enhanced resistance, and Treachery for general assassin stat support.

Additional Tips: Prioritize attack speed in gear, and use supporting skills like Death Sentry, Lightning Sentry, and Shockweb for varied damage. Consider Fade for increased survivability, and Venom for supplementary damage. Weapon swaps with Heart of the Oak and Spirit Monarch with added trap skills for sustained damage are excellent additions.
