Every character in Dragon Ball Legends comes with their own basic abilities and special skills. However, to truly maximize your characters’ potential, you need to equip them with the right gear. Equipment in Dragon Ball Legends are attachments that enhance your characters’ stats, offering various boosts like increased strike and blast attacks, and enhanced strike and blast defense. The boosts can vary widely, providing significant advantages in battles. Equipment comes in different rarities: iron, bronze, silver, gold, unique, and event-limited. Additionally, equipment tags specify the conditions for using them. You can acquire equipment by completing missions, winning specific stages, or succeeding in PvP battles.
Equipment Conditions
Before equipping any gear, you need to consider three main conditions: character level, element or character tag, and limit break level. If your character doesn’t meet these conditions, they won’t be able to use the equipment.
- Character Level: This refers to the level of the character you want to equip.
- Element or Character Tag: This indicates the character’s clan or family, such as whether they are an android or from the future.
- Limit Break Level: This refers to the number of stars the character has.
To check the conditions for a specific piece of equipment, simply tap and hold it to view the details. The conditions will be listed below the description of each slot.
Equipment Ranks and Slots
Just like characters, equipment also needs to be leveled up to provide the best possible stat boosts. To upgrade equipment, you’ll need to collect Souls and Zeni, which can be obtained by completing event missions.
When equipment is upgraded, its slots are unlocked, and their colors indicate their strength and ability effects. The hierarchy of colors from weakest to strongest is green, yellow, and red. The more slots you unlock, the higher the stats the equipment can provide.
The rank of equipment also significantly impacts its effects. The best equipment ranks are Z, S, and 神 (Godly). Lower ranks start from F, followed by E, D, C, and so on. Higher-ranked equipment provides better stat boosts and is generally more desirable for optimizing your characters.

There are exceptions, such as the “There’s no way the WE…could lose to someone like you!” equipment, which offers more flexible usage options.
