Mylo in Arcane: iGV

Mylo, a character brought to life in Riot Games’ animated series Arcane, is a resident of Zaun with a background shrouded in mystery. Like many of the children living in the undercity, his past is largely unknown. He found himself orphaned at a young age and was eventually taken in by Vander.

Vander acted as a father figure to Mylo, as well as to Vi, Claggor, and Powder (later known as Jinx). The group survived by carrying out various jobs, some legal, many not so much, in the dangerous streets of Zaun. Mylo, alongside the others, did this to gain respect from Vander.

Mylo And His Relationship With Jinx From League Of Legends

Mylo shared a complex dynamic with Powder, later known as Jinx. Though they were essentially siblings within Vander’s makeshift family, Mylo often treated Powder harshly. This harshness was fueled by his own insecurities.

He frequently expressed his doubts about Powder’s abilities, labeling her a “jinx” whenever their heists went wrong. Tragically, this belittling stuck with Powder, ultimately contributing to her transformation into the chaotic Jinx. Mylo’s words became a self-fulfilling prophecy, leaving a lasting scar on Powder’s psyche.

Mylo And His Relationship With Vi From League Of Legends

Mylo’s relationship with Vi was characterized by a mixture of brotherhood and conflict. They were part of the same found family, bound together by their shared circumstances and loyalty to Vander. However, their differing views on Powder often led to clashes.

Vi, fiercely protective of her younger sister, would often intervene when Mylo was particularly harsh towards Powder. She acted as a buffer, defending Powder from Mylo’s criticism. This created tension between Mylo and Vi, as he resented her constant interference and her unwavering faith in Powder.

Hexgem Incident And Untimely Demise Of Mylo

Mylo’s life took a tragic turn during the ill-fated heist at Jayce’s apartment. The group intended to steal valuable Hextech components, but their operation went horribly wrong, triggering an explosion. They narrowly escaped capture by the Enforcers, Piltover’s police force.

Following the incident, Vander surrendered himself to protect the children. Determined to rescue their father figure, the group planned an assault on the lockup where Vander was held. During the rescue attempt, Powder’s actions resulted in a devastating explosion.

Amidst the chaos, both Mylo and Claggor were tragically killed by Powder’s explosive mishap. This marked a turning point in the story and profoundly affected the lives of Vi and Powder, shaping their destinies in irreversible ways. His death was a tragic consequence of the escalating conflict.

Final Thoughts

Mylo’s character, while not always likeable, plays a crucial role in the narrative of Arcane. His insecurities and harsh treatment of Powder have far-reaching consequences, ultimately contributing to her transformation into Jinx. His death serves as a catalyst for the events that unfold.

Regardless of one’s personal feelings towards Mylo, his untimely demise evokes a sense of tragedy. He represents the harsh realities of life in Zaun, where survival often comes at a steep price. His story is a reminder of the devastating impact of poverty and violence on the lives of vulnerable children.

Mylo’s absence leaves a void, impacting Vi and, most significantly, Powder. His actions and his death become a haunting memory, shaping Jinx’s perception of herself and her relationships with others. The hex gem incident had a lasting effect on all involved.
