Haven Map Valorant: Pro Player Guide

A Player’s Pro Guide To The Haven Map in Valorant

Haven, a unique map in Valorant, features three bomb sites, creating a complex battlefield that demands strategic thinking and coordinated teamwork. This guide will offer a detailed analysis of each site, providing insights into both offensive and defensive strategies, along with recommended agent selections.

Let’s jump into Haven.

A-Site: Z-Axis Focus

A-Site is characterized by its verticality, which impacts both attacking and defending strategies. This elevation change necessitates teams to account for threats coming from above and below, adding complexity to engagements.

Unlike sites with straightforward layouts, A-Site offers attackers multiple entry points, leading to unpredictable scenarios.

Understanding A-Site Offense:

To successfully take A-Site, attackers must prioritize gaining control of A-Tower, a high ground position that provides defenders with a significant advantage. Here’s how to approach A-Site:

  • A-Long: Utilize smokes to block vision and safely advance towards the site. This prevents defenders from easily picking off attackers.
  • A-Tower: Eliminate or displace the defender in A-Tower to open the site for entry. A well-timed flash or smoke can disrupt their position.
  • A-Tower Garage: Use this area below A-Tower as a concealed post-plant position to catch retaking defenders by surprise.
  • A-Short: Secure A-Short before pushing onto the site. Clear the cubbies for any lurking defenders.
  • A-Link: Take control of A-Link to prevent defenders from flanking. This connection between A and B is a critical choke point.

Understanding A-Site Defense:

For defenders, A-Tower is your primary stronghold. Use it to your advantage to impede the attackers’ progress. Here’s a defensive strategy:

  • A-Tower: Position a strong sniper with an Operator or Marshal in A-Tower to deter attackers from A-Long and A-Short.
  • A-Tower Garage: Set up an ambush in the garage to punish attackers after they plant the Spike.
  • A-Link: Maintain control of A-Link to prevent flanks and allow for rotations to other sites when needed.

B-Site: Essentially A Circle

B-Site, situated in Haven’s mid-section, is a close-quarters arena. Its circular layout, combined with a central structure, encourages engagements that necessitate players to navigate around it for positioning.

Compared to other sites, B-Site offers few movement options. It boils down to who can control the choke points and corners.

Understanding B-Site Offense:

Attacking B-Site requires a coordinated approach, recognizing the limited space and potential for defensive holds. Some key tactical considerations are:

  • Mid Window: Be wary of snipers who may peek Mid Window into the site. Utilize smokes to cut off their sightlines.
  • Mid Courtyard: Proceed cautiously through this area, as defenders can utilize the crates for cover.
  • Mid Doors: These provide access to C-Short and the C-Site area. They can also be used to flank attackers pushing C-Site from Attacker Spawn.

Understanding B-Site Defense:

Defending B-Site requires controlling the key access points. Here are some tips to lock it down:

  • B-Back: This spot is good for ambush. Quick rotations to A or C site is also a great benefit.
  • Mid Courtyard: Peeking from Mid Courtyard gives you an advantage in defending B-Site.

C-Site: The Fight For C-Long

C-Site in Haven is known for its long sightlines and opportunities for close-quarters combat. With multiple entry points, it can be a challenging site to push.

With C-Long, it is nothing more than a straight alley and garage window to B-Site.

Understanding C-Site Offense:

Successful C-Site attacks require coordinated pressure from multiple angles. Here are some tactics to consider:

  • C-Long & C-Short/C-Window: Simultaneous pushes from C-Long and C-Short/C-Window can overwhelm defenders.
  • C-Link: Secure C-Link to guard against flanks from B-Site or Defender Spawn. Watch out for Raze ultimates.
  • C-Cubby: Utilize this position for post-plant defense, surprising retaking enemies coming through C-Long.
  • C-Site Proper: Hide near the crates towards C-Short and C-Link to catch enemies off guard.

Understanding C-Site Defense:

While C-Long provides a clear line of sight, dedicating too many defenders there can be a mistake. Prioritize strategic positioning and area denial.

  • C-Long: A single sniper, with occasional support, can deter attackers from pushing through C-Long.
  • C-Window: A good point to defend C-Short, while you can use Molotovs to block off Mid Doors.
  • Mid Doors: Prevent threats from entering, like using a detection ability.

Agents: Area Coverage Is A Priority

Agent selection for Haven should focus on area control, information gathering, and versatile utility.

  • Omen: Smokes can lockdown sites and makes rotations safe. His teleport makes him move between sites with ease.
  • Cypher: Spycams and Trapwires provide area denial, locking down locations and makes effective rotations.
  • Sova: Recon Darts reveal enemy position, so you can plan your next attack, while delaying pushes.
