The MMORPG Elder Scrolls Online is getting a graphics upgrade that will spruce up several zones at once, and behind it is a plan from the developers. If you’re looking to enhance your in-game experience, you can Buy ESO Gold to gear up faster and enjoy the new visuals with top-tier equipment!

What is this graphics upgrade?

Almost ten years have passed since the release of Elder Scrolls Online, and now the developers are giving the MMORPG a graphics update. With the upcoming Update 45, the starting areas of Bleakrock Isle, Bal Foyen, Stros M’kai, Betnikh and Khenarthi’s Roost will be spruced up.

Similar to the MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, the entire game world does not change. The developers swap textures, skins and objects in the game for newer ones, bringing the oldest game areas up to the level of the fresh zones.

The responsible world builder Greg Barley explains what changes players can expect: “[…] Things like ground and water textures, grasses and flowers, lighting and some small props have been replaced. […] Certain places have updated structures, such as the docks or shipwrecks on Khenarthi’s Roost.” Behind the changes is a plan from the developers, and more will follow.

Focus on new players

What kind of plan do the developers have?

By wanting to give the five old starting areas a new look, new players should get a nicer impression of the game. The starting zones no longer met the ESO standard. Since they are the first point of contact for new players, an upgrade was particularly important.

Art Manager Morgan Godat says: “Because these zones are smaller, we were able to bundle the changes and release them together to ensure that all new players have a first experience in an open zone that is similar in visual quality to our newly released zones, regardless of their choice of character creation.”

The zones, which were created over 10 years ago before the release of the MMORPG, are now getting on in years and the developers are now using their years of experience with the game world to spruce it up. For new players, however, this is not the only change in the game.

What else is changing?

Update 45 is even more focused on the experience of new players. For new adventurers, getting the first mount is an important experience in Elder Scrolls Online. But as a fresh player sitting on a horse for the first time, progress was slow at first. Some players even felt that they could sprint faster than their horse galloped.

However, the developers want to take away this feeling by increasing the base speed. For example, players ride faster through the world of Tamriel from the beginning. However, the final speed has only been slightly increased, so experienced players hardly benefit from the change.

Update 45 for Elder Scrolls Online launches on March 10 on PC and Mac, and on March 26 on Xbox and PlayStation. In addition to the changes mentioned, players can also expect an improved UI as well as better hints about the important Mundus Stones in the game.
