  • Greatsword: Great Cleaver, Death from Above
  • Crossbow: Rain of Bolts, Snapshot
  • Longbow: Multishot, Guided Arrow
  • Pistol: Fan the Hammer, Explosive Bullet

Choosing the right weapon depends heavily on whether you’re focused on PvE (player vs. environment) or PvP (player vs. player). This guide will help you select the best options for each scenario.

Best V Rising Overall Weapons

These weapons excel in both PvP and PvE, but slight adjustments to your playstyle might be necessary. PvP emphasizes mobility, while PvE often prioritizes consistent damage output.

  • Slashers: Though lower damage compared to some other options, Slashers offer good mobility and survivability in PvE. Elusive Strike (dodging) and Camouflage (avoiding aggro) make them valuable against bosses and large groups. Their mobility also lends itself to effective PvP engagement.
  • Spear: The Spear, often overlooked, is a high DPS weapon, particularly in PvE. While highly vulnerable during A Thousand Spears, its powerful stuns and stagger effects, coupled with the utility of Harpoon for ranged engagements, makes it an effective choice in both PvE and PvP.
  • Axes: Axes offer a balanced kit that excels in both PvE and PvP. Frenzy offers mobility, while X-Strike allows for both close-quarters and mid-range combat, making them adaptable and comfortable for both scenarios.

Best V Rising PvE Weapons

PvE effectiveness often revolves around sustained damage or powerful burst attacks. Many bosses have defensive mechanisms, making weapons that deliver uninterrupted attacks or impactful burst damage very advantageous.

  • Longbow: Excellent for clearing mobs and dealing substantial damage against bosses. The Longbow’s progressive DPS increase combined with crowd control options of Multishot and Guided Arrow makes it a strong PvE choice.
  • Greatsword: Effective against bosses, especially those with numerous adds. The high AoE of Great Cleaver and Death from Above, coupled with strong burst damage, is effective against multiple enemies or large bosses.
  • Reaper: While seemingly less impactful at first, the Reaper excels in PvE. Its AoE damage and crowd control through Tendon Swing and Howling Reaper prove highly effective against large numbers of enemies or specific bosses, though timing is key.

Best V Rising PvP Weapons

PvP weapons emphasize consistent damage output, significant burst damage, or strong crowd control to counter mobile opponents.

  • Sword: Excellent for player-versus-player combat. Shockwave provides mobility and positioning to catch opponents off guard, followed by Whirlwind for high damage.
  • Mace: Mace excels in PvP due to its high damage and reliable stuns. Crushing Blow offers exceptional mobility and crowd control, while Smack provides additional incapacitation, making it very useful against agile opponents.
  • Whip: Excellent for mobility and crowd control, though with moderate damage. Its maneuverability lets you evade attacks while keeping opponents at bay. Effective in protracted duels.
  • Pistol: A top PvP choice, offering a combination of mobility, knockback mechanics, and substantial DPS. The pistol’s combination of single target and AoE attacks, and excellent distance management make it a versatile weapon, though less useful against bosses.

Important Note: Crossbow is not a strong choice in PvP due to its lower damage and slow attack speed. Its primary attack, Rain of Bolts, suffers from lack of significant AoE making it unreliable for both bosses and PvP engagements.
