What kind of rings are we talking about here?
In Path of Exile 2, the ring type is often not the only thing that determines the value of a ring. Rather, it depends on the randomly generated attributes that can occur with these special rings. But only certain ring types offer the full potential if they are provided with the right mods. Other rings, even if they have comparable values, usually remain much less valuable.

In PoE 2, most rings appear with random values. Only with the right attributes can an ordinary item become a strong one. Especially in the endgame, it is no longer enough to equip items with the right basic stats. The additional attributes also have to be right.

In Path of Exile 2, you will be overwhelmed with loot at certain points. However, you should always pick up the following rings to check their stats.

- Increases the maximum quality by a certain percentage.
- Gold Ring
- Increases the rarity of items found by 6–15%
- Pearl Ring
- Increases cast speed by 7–10%
- Prismatic Ring
- Increases all Elemental Resistances by 7–10%
- Amethyst Ring
- Increases Chaos Resistance by 7–13%
- Topaz Ring
- Increases Lightning Resistance by 20-30%
- Sapphire Ring
- Increases cold resistance by 20-30%
- Ruby Ring
- Increases fire resistance by 20-30%
These rings all have a usable base for different builds. A ring of a different type is less valuable with the same good stats because they don’t fit the meta builds as well.
Relevant attributes for caster builds
What are the correct stats?
The best stats on the rings are split into stats for caster builds and stats for other attackers. Rings that are suitable for casters have at least one of the following stats to be truly valuable:
- Maximum Mana: 150–189
- Increased Cast Speed: 17–24%
- Increased Lightning or General Elemental Damage: 23–30%
- Increased Intellect: 25–33
- Elemental Resistances Fire, Cold, Lightning: 31–45%
Even one of these values on one of the ring types mentioned above can be valuable. If you find a ring that combines two of these stats, that’s all the better.
Relevant attributes for attacker builds
For builds that rely primarily on physical or hybrid damage, the focus is on health and damage values:
- Maximum Life: 85–119
- Increased Physical Damage: 14–32%
- Increased Cold Damage: 16–37%
- Increased Lightning Damage: 31–71%
- Attribute values Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence: 25–33
- Elemental Resistances Fire, Cold, Lightning: 31–45%
- Chaos Resistance: 20–27%

Additional valuable attributes
In addition to the build-specific values, other attributes can significantly increase the value of a ring:
- Increased rarity of items found: 21–32%
- All Elemental Resistances: 12–16%
- Increased Mana Regeneration: 50–69%
In Path of Exile 2, it’s not the ring itself that counts, but the combination of ring type and the attributes on it. Only the ring types mentioned have the full potential to significantly improve your build with the right mods and are therefore valuable.
A ring with several matching mods is a real asset and can serve your character deep into the endgame.
